jasn-ai-bachpan
himalayan village sonapani and soultitudes are hosting a special family event called jasn-ai-bachpan, a celebration of childhood, something you, as a family, would cherish for a long time.

in these three days children would be exposed to various elements of theatrical expression. this would be facilitated by national school of drama graduates who are active theatre artists and have also been conducting theatre based workshops in the past.

day 02

breakfast
session 01 | ice breaker | the session would start with introduction of participants. this would be done in an informal setting where the participants could interact with each other while playing fun games which may include things like – name games, song games, etc. children would also introduce themselves using dramatic expressions – maybe through a small skit or a mimicry or a song and dance sequence. this will be their first introduction to the craft of acting and theatre. this will be followed by an introduction to story telling - through music and sound. children would get a chance to express themselves in different spaces and settings so that they can maximize their imagination power. the session also strives to increase sensibility, develop personality and enhance expression of the participants.

session 02 | not alone! | in this session, we will focus on group-based activities. children would be divided into small groups and provided with a hypothetical situation that they would discuss and debate. what will evolve from this would be situational play, with script based totally on the imagination of the group members. in this session, while interpreting the situation into a play, the participants would also be exposed to the use of props and suggestive sets. they would involve themselves in creating sounds and music and also visualizing dance sequences.

day 03

walk to the rock face for adventure activities like rock climbing and rappelling

session 03 | we are a family | in this session the parents would also get involved. caching on whatever the children have learnt till now, they will direct their parents to perform based on their scripts. the scripts may be a simple interpretation on a situation at home. there may be many interpretation of the same situation –comical, serious, factual, metaphorical, etc. through these we would also explore role reversals.

while the kids are busy with the workshop, parents would be free to take rest, read books, enjoy the sun, fly kites, interact with each other, go for nature/jungle walks/ soft treks/ village walks or soil ones hand with farm activities.

package cost and terms & conditions

rs. 12,500 per family 
each family would get a single cottage with an extra bed. 
a typical family would comprise of 2 adults & 2 children (3-12 years of age).

rs. 13,500 for family cottage. (two in number, these cottages have a separate enclosure with bunk bed for kids)

the above cost includes:
- workshop fees
- activities
- accommodation & all meals including snacks (served during bonfire)

the cost does not include cost for travel, items of personal nature, mineral water, fruit juices, cold drinks, etc.

payment terms: 100% advance through cash or cheque/dd payable at ncr of delhi. there would be no refund if participation is cancelled 7 days before the event, prior to which 25% of the total amount would get deducted.

if you wish to reach a day earlier or stay back for a day or two more, please intimate in advance so that bookings can be done accordingly. the charges applicable would be as per our regular tariff plan (tariff plan).

about the facilitators
the facilitators of the event are known name in the theatre and performing art circuit. presented below is a brief profile of the facilitators.

ajay: a national school of drama graduate, ajay is an active member of the delhi theatre circuit. he has also been actively working on the katha gayan style of theatre for a long time. his play 'bada bhand tow bada bhand' has been staged in all the major cities of india and has been critical acclaimed for its execution. the script, music and songs for the play has been written by ajay himself. in fact, this play was also performed at himalayan village sonapani on the new years eve (december 31, 2004). ajay is also well versed with various styles of music and has composed music for numerous plays. he has also conducted many theatre based workshops.

gopal tewari: gopal is also a national school of drama graduate and actively works in theatre as well as the film industry. he has done many plays across the country
and has performed key roles in various films. he is also a story as well as song writer.
