about the performers
rajeev: all through college, and a busy, stimulating career in advertising, the flute has been rajeev’s companion and creative muse. his band colossus flagged off the first-ever jazz yatra in bangalore in the mid-eighties. since moving to mumbai, he has played with some of india’s greatest musicians including shankar, ehsaan, loy and both fazal and taufiq quereshi. today, he plays with the jazz-funk band junckt, which performs to packed houses at jazz clubs in mumbai.

anupam: playing guitar since 1980, anupam is also a sound designer and the founder of guitar workshop, india’s first and the biggest guitar school, training and grooming many indian bands to eventual rock glory. he himself was a finalist twice at the levi’s (rsj) great indian rock contest. among his many recordings, his song “funk monk” which he recorded with his band, the karmic circle, is part of the great indian rock 2002 compilation. his musical leaning is towards jazz and blues.

joi: in mumbai since the last 4 years, joy has taken a key part of the movement that introduced the sensibilities of contemporary western music to bollywood music. a singer of exceptional talent, he has lent his voice to several movie soundtracks, working with some of the currently hot composers. when not busy playback singing, he plays guitar and sings with his band, vital instinct. you’re likely to hear a few tasteful bad company, eagles, dave matthews covers amongst his rich repertoire.
